Parts of Ireland were treated to a rare Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) display on Monday night, as a result of a coronal mass ejection (CME) impacting Earth's
magnetic field.
The impact sparked a moderate (Kp=6) geomagnetic storm and Northern Lights in Ireland as far south as Mayo, Galway and Dublin.
The Northern Lights display coincided with a major outburst of Draconid meteors, which had been reported by The Canadian Meteor Orbit Radar (CMOR) on Monday afternoon.
