Spring on hold for another week at least

On 27 March, 2012, the temperature at Belmullet in County Mayo reached 22.2c. On 27 March 2013 (next Wednesday) the daytime temp will struggle to reach above 5c.

Next week will bring even colder conditions to Ireland although it will be much more settled and brighter for most places. There will be severe overnight frosts in most places with temperatures dipping to between -3c and -5c. Already, it has been the coldest March in more than 30 years in some places. New records are likely to be broken next week.
