WEATHER ADVISORY Heavy Rain/Localised Flooding, 10-11 February 2013

Weather Advisory: Valid for period 10pm Saturday to 6pm Monday.

As indicated in our main forecast, we are keeping an eye on the potential for some very wet weather later this weekend a frontal system becomes slow moving over Ireland tomorrow. The frontal zone will move into western areas later tonight and will move gradually across the country to affect eastern areas by morning where it will linger for much of the day.

Although the rain won't be consistently heavy, hazardous driving conditions and local spot flooding are likely to occur due to the persistence of the rain in places. At this stage we think the eastern half of the country will see the highest rainfall totals with southwestern areas fairing best but we will keep you updated on any changes in this forecast over the next 24hrs or so.
