Flooding has hit Wicklow Town this morning (Saturday) after the River Vartry burst its banks.
High tide is expected during the coming hours which could exacerbate the situation.

Some further light rain or sleet is expected overnight with showers expected during Saturday. However, relatively dry conditions at the weekend will bring a welcome reprieve to the town and its hinterland following 24 hours of heavy rainfall.
Elsewhere in Wicklow, heavy flooding is reported around Delgany, especially on the Glen Rd between Killincarrig Roundabout and Delgany Village. Gardai are also advising that the M11 is down to one lane both ways at Bray North, though earlier flooding is receding.
Meanwhile, residents of Arklow are bracing themselves for more flooding this morning at high tide after continuous rain for more than 24 hours has also left parts of the town under water. The main street of the town, the south quays and major routes in and out of the town, including the Dublin and Wexford roads are currently impassable.
