WEATHER ALERT – Ice And Rain/Sleet/Snow (Valid 10pm 4/12/12 - Midday 5/12/12)
Outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow (predominantly on high ground) will affect parts of Ulster, east Connacht, and the northern half of Leinster tonight. A light dusting snow is possible in inland locations of Ulster and northern Leinster, chiefly on high ground (above approx. 150-200m). Winds moderate NW-N. Light wintry showers are possible in western coastal districts.
Overnight lows of -2c to +2c combined with overnight precipitation will lead to treacherous driving conditions in these locations overnight and tomorrow morning. Icy conditions are likely away from coastal locations elsewhere. Temperatures are likely to remain well above freezing in coastal parts of the southwest.
