ICE WARNING - VALID 5PM 05 DEC TO 12PM 06 DEC 2012
Air temperatures will fall below freezing early tonight in many areas
with icy conditions developing on many of our roads once again. Fog is
likely to become an issue also.
Later tonight, a band of cloud
and rain will move into Northwestern counties and although this will
bring an increase in the air temperature, ground temps will remain below
freezing which could result in severe icy conditions forming as rain
falls on frozen surfaces such as roads and paths.
This band of
rain will work its way eastwards much later tonight and through tomorrow
morning so we would strongly advise that both drivers and pedestrians
be extremely cautious and to keep in mind the potentially dangerous
conditions up to late tomorrow morning.
Remember, keep your
distance from the vehicle in front of you if journeying later on, not
only to keep your journey as safe as possible, but also to respect other
drivers on the road.
Stay safe and please post any reports you have on any tricky road conditions you may encounter on here so as to warn others.
