The Mexican Government has issued a tropical storm warning for the coast of Mexico from Barra de Nautla to La Cruz for Saturday.
The centre of tropical storm Helene was located by an U.S. Air Force reserve hurricane hunter aircraft on Friday evening. The centre of Helene will make landfall in the warning area on Saturday.
Data from the aircraft indicate that maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h), with higher gusts.
Some strengthening is possible before the Helene moves inland with weakening expected after landfall.
The U.S. National Hurricane Centre said Friday night that tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the centre.

Tropical Storm Gordon is currently located 1770 kilometres west of The Azores and is moving east at 30 km/h. Maximum sustained winds of 100 km/h have been recorded while the system’s minimum central pressure is 997mb.
The Miami-based U.S. National Hurricane Centre (NHC) says that some slight strengthening of the system is expected during the next day or so before it reaches cooler waters, east of The Azores.
